It all began with the purchase of just the candy apple red gloss, then my mind was set; I had to have every shade. I love every shade and I adore them :) thanks Lime Crime! xoxo, Dream

I love every shade! They are super color-saturated without being sticky and they smell delish! I'm picky when it comes to lip gloss and I wear one of these shades every chance I get. A must have!

First of all when I write reviews of products I bought on the internet I try to do it as fair and with no judgment on the products. Just the facts I have gotten by testing them(but of course I tell how much I loved certain colours). I also check the pictures the company has on the product and compare them(since most looks at them). And I also report of the negative things, since almost every one just tells the positive things about the product they are reviewing. Nothing wrong with that but that is not a true review that people can use.
Right! Then I shall move on to the package I bought.
I bought the package of all five lip gloss because I'm a makeup junkie and in general I love LimeCrimes products. And I saves some money on doing that too!
The packing of the lip glosses is wonderful, I truly loves it and it feel unique and fancy. Everyone needs something fancy on the make up stand after all!
The design on the bottles is perfect and I can not find something to report on them apart from their beauty!
The lip gloss itself is very thick and with the brush it might be tricky how to learn to apply it.
I recommend that you prime your lips with some lip balm before to make the lip gloss glide better and not “stick” into your lips after a small move. I notices that all of the lip glosses was this thick therefore I don't take it up on the individual reviews.
and as you see I have done a review on all of the lip glosses I got.
Candy Apple; This gloss really fit all of my expectations! I had a few of them; first the colour. I wanted the colour on the beautiful poster they used in the commercial and the lip gloss actually had it! Very good indeed. Secondly; the pigment. Very often I come across some nice and sparky lip gloss but they are thin and needs like a ton of layers to really present their colour. None of that with Candy apple! Perfect pigment and colour and the coverage was good once I used lip balm under it to prime my lips.
What I don't understand is why LimeCrime had a lipstick under it on the individual page for Candy Apple. It ruins how you look at the colour. From my point of view they should have used their commercial poster instead.
Golden Ticket; I usually don't use gold but it was a very nice colour that really makes one think of real gold. The coverage is very good and the lip gloss kinda melts into your lips so it looks pretty much like on the picture. I needed two layers to get the perfect colour but that is very good for such a metallic lip gloss!
I'm have silver skin(it looks best with silver) so gold was a bit hard for me to wear without a make up that brought the gold into my skin better. But they also says it looks good on darker complexions and they are right on that. Probably it looks even better on the darker complexions because on my fair skin it turned out kinda dark and not as sparky gold as in the picture on the individual page for Golden Ticket.
Loop-de-Loop; This must be my favorite one, for me it is so unique and beats candy apple with horse lengths because of the intensive midnight blue colour. The thickness of the colour made me use lip balm under it to make it glide better and it was needed. One layer were enough for this thick gloss to give perfect coverage and colour. This blue fits most complexions but it can leave a stain of bluish-green even after you have tried to remove it with makeup remover.
The colour is very similar on the picture too but it doesn't melt into the lips like it has done on the picture. For me it really looked like a lip gloss not a lipstick as it does on Limecrimes individual page for Loop-de-Loop.
Kaleidoscope; This purple was I very existed over and sorry to say a bit disappointed in. The pictures shows a true purple with just as much blue as red but the one I have in the bottle is more red than on the pictures. It is like a brownish purple with blue sparkly flicks in it. It also is not very pigmented and the lip gloss melts away regardless if I have lip balm or not under it.
To gotten that perfect purple they either must had a lip stick under it or edited the picture beyond recognition for that pictures seems to tell me a little lie in how this lip gloss looks. Also it looks like a lip gloss not like a lip stick like on the picture. But even if this lip gloss has its flaws it still a good lip gloss once you have a lip stick under it, preferably in a purple colour. Then the lipstick gets a transformation and seems more purple and stays longer on the lips.
Cherry on Top; This was also a kind of disappointment. Not only had they had a lip stick under the lip gloss on the individual page for it but it really didn't have that lip gloss shine I was looking for.
It looked more like a extra shiny lipstick than a lip gloss. The colour is kinda cool however and I can use it on daily basic if I want since the colour fits almost any occasion.
To me the colour in the bottle is light red with pink sparky flicks in it but the flicks doesn't do much since the red drowns them out. More flicks and a little less intense red colour would have made this lip gloss a bit better I think since you actually would have the chance to enjoy the sparks in the flicks. I use this lip gloss/liquid lipstick with matte or rather neutral make ups since the red colour is kinda like a neon sign and unless I want to drown the lips out with heavy make up that was what it looked best on me.
But the name was the best I think, it is a perfect lip gloss name!
Sum up; The lip glosses in general were good their thickness and rich pigment makes you not need so much and the product will last longer in your make up bag.
They can be hard to apply but not only because the thickness but also to the weird brush you got with it. it makes it very easy to draw outside your lips and if you don't have lip balm under the lip gloss you risk to get stuck in your lip and tug at it. Not a good thing with a product that should glide on like a very shiny cream.
But since both of the red ones had lip stick underneath on the individual pages you never can say "that colour is like on the swatch" because that would be a lie ^^' The Lip sticks changed the whole view of the lip gloss. And that is a problem in my eyes since it is much harder to describe the lip gloss without comparing it to the picture. But I did my best and I think Limecrime should change the pictures on Cherry on top and Candy apple and just show the lip glosses and not how they would look over a lip stick.
LIME CRIME SAYS:
Thanks for an in-depth review, Jessica. Just to clarify, our Carousel Gloss swatches are shown on bare lips (no lipstick underneath). However, since it's a semi-opaque product they will look slightly different on everyone. :)
