Makeup TipsHow do I stop my eyeshadow from creasing? Eyelid primer is what you're looking for, baby! Our favorite is by Urban Decay ($16), but applying liquid foundation over your lids works most of the time, too. Keep in mind that some low-quality eyeshadows will crease no matter what. How do I use Lime Crime eye dusts? Apply primer to the lids. Open the jar and sweep the excess shadow from the edges and into the lid, using a brush. Swirl brush inside the lid and apply to eyes. Close the lid tightly after each use. My [insert brand] eyeshadow never looks as bright as yours! What's your secret? Pigmentation. Most companies add lots of filler to make their eyeshadows cheaper. Unfortunately, filler dulls the colors. Lime Crime eyeshadows are very, very, very high in pigment - so you can be sure you'll be rocking the brightest shadow on the block! My eyeshadow looks patchy and uneven. What am I doing wrong? It could be one of these things - 1. The tools you are using might be letting you down. Quality brushes are essential when it comes to makeup application: a good brush gives you a lot more control and spreads the color more evenly. I live and swear by my Lime Crime brushes, and recommend them highly. 2. Low quality eyeshadow. Unfortunately, lower-end stuff tends to go on chalky and patchy and creases quickly. C'est la vie! 3. You are not using a primer. A primer makes your eyelids smoother and more receptive to eyeshadow. Lime Crime is coming out with an Eyeshadow Primer very soon, stay tuned! Whenever I apply eyeshadow, it makes a mess on my face! When working with high-pigmented shadows, it is a good idea to do your eye makeup first, clean up the mess, and then do your skin. The same principle applies if you're messy with mascara - put it on before you do eyeshadow! I want a flawless complexion! You're in luck! Our Foundation Primer was designed to create a smooth canvas for your foundation and concealer application. In addition, Sheer Magic Finishing Pixie Dust setting powder mattifies the skin, eliminating the oily t-zone, and leaves the skin radiant and silky-smooth! To add a little (or a lot!) of sparkle to your cheekbones & collarbone, try our Glitters collection (we love Goblin's Gold)! I have dark under-eye circles. Help! To conceal darker areas, using a cream concealer. Paula Dorf Magic Stick works miracles! I love the idea of false lashes but not sure how to apply them. Any advice? It does take a little bit of experience to apply falsies quickly, but with practice you'll be a pro in no time! Apply eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible - this will be your guideline to where the falsies will go. Squeeze out even amount of glue on the ridge and let dry for 15 seconds. Close your eye and press the lash in, as close to the natural lash line as possible. Keep your eye closed for about 10 seconds. Voila! If it looks crooked, pull it off and try again. If you're going out in a windy weather or expect to be moving around a lot, simply apply a coat of mascara over your own AND false lashes - this will bond them together. Can you recommend a liquid eyeliner? The one by Prestige rocks (sold in most pharmacies). Stick to the ones with a felt tip, avoid the brushes - they don't give you as much control and precision. Whenever I put eyeliner on my waterline, it gets inside my eye. Help! The trick is to apply eyeliner is such a way that it doesn't touch the eyeball. Draw a line close to the eyelashes, away from the other edge. So I did my makeup, went out, felt fabulous! How do I remove it? Baby wipes are the best. They are gentle and remove makeup excellently. Also, Wet Ones for sensitive skin. I have brown hair/ green eyes (or blonde hair/blue eyes) - which colors will look good on me? The best color on you is the color YOU like! :) Here at Lime Crime we strongly believe that anyone can rock any color - as long as it's applied well! So go ahead, pick any color that strikes your fancy and wear it with confidence! Crave more? Check out these tutorials! |
